RE: After Action Review, 10 Feb 2009

This is a record of the events of 10 Feb 2009.
Vice Admiral CaptinBones led a small force of Lords to Tobago from Port of Spain in pursuit of TOD Clan Members on or about 22:00 CET, 10 Feb 2009. Upon arrival in Tobago harbor, the Lords squadron comprised of Captain_Jepp, Marlborosmurf, CaptinBones and Sirdias4 engaged Blackhawk66, Rally_5 from TOD along with Papillion of BPP following from Port of Spain. A hard fight was put up by all, however other clans came to the rescue of our foe, an unidentified X and Skull, along with PIet_Hein of FD. After PIet's arrival and subsequent sinking of one flotilla of Captain_Jepp's fast galleon Battle Group, our force chose to port and regroup. After our foe began to disband, a distress call was ordered by YoldaPirate from several miles west of Curapano. Contigents of the fleet, to include Lady_of_the_Deep, Vespucci and Egbert, were already at Curapano or in route from the north. As our group began to move from Tobago, with only Papillion in port (chatting heavily to an unknown group), some of the group did not receive orders to follow CaptinBones, and thus opted to "split up" to avoid contact. This served to be a poor decision by this officer in particular, as my remaining ships were already somewhat damaged and in need of escort.

My choice was to leave Tobago and not follow the fleet into potential fighting, but rather to proceed south to Joana to refit and potentially switch fleets. About 30 miles away from Tobago, the fleet encountered Fast Galleon sails on the horizon. To my relief, my lookout reported the ship to be that of Commander Dilligaf of the DC clan. However, continuing on our present course, Dilligaf's battle group ran up along side and presented their cannons. Astonished, I did not direct my men to open the gunbays. Within moments, Dillgaf's group opened fired upon our fleet. Seconds later, I saw two other barque fleets on the horizon - those of none other than Chim and CaptBear.

Immediately I ordered my helmsman to come about and set course to return to Tobago. Chim and Captbear's fleets blocked and shot while Dilligaf's group inflicted heavy damage. After losing two Fast Galleon flotilla's, the remaining two ships were able to return to Tobago. Upon discussion with Dilligaf, CaptinBones ordered the clan to sink his boats on site. Dilligaf had apparently told Bones that he "had to make a choice" and choose to fight with the =B= clan.

In other fighting, the rescue of YoldaPirate proved to be a disaster for the fleet. Several of our ships were lost, to include a lost of Egbert's entire fleet. The X Clan returned to POS Harbor to give our fleets a very difficult time, but when they started to break off, the =B= clan remained and our fleets gave them a beating, to include 3 sinks of CaptBear and an unknown number to Chim. Kings were soon called to the scene, led by Red_Dogg, who proceeded to team with the =B= clan against our fleets. At this point, many of our commanders had retired and there were few noteworthy engagements. Captbearslady arrived at this point and blocked LOTD once, then went into port to observe how naval combat should be performed, per her fleet's SOP. Elexplorer also came into the fighting to assist.

I regret to inform you that I did not have a screen shot of Dilligaf. Next time when under fire, I will try to remember....F3 F3 F3.
